Movie Review - 500 Days of Summer

500 days of summer is a romantic comedy-drama film produced in 2009. A flashback storyline indicated the starting of a relationship between a man who accidentally bumped into a girl. The relationship started when the guy had feelings for the girl but eventually, it was one side of love affection between those two homo sapiens. The relationship goes along the way the girl just wanted to be friends but they tried to the extent where nothing happened between those two. Sadly, the girl married to another man, the man who initially bumped into the girl was trying to cope with the situation at his best, best coping mechanism, and tried to solve his heartbreak issue by becoming an architect.

Meet the director of this film, Marc Webb graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in English major. July 2009 marked as the debut for this romantic film to express his feelings on making this oh-so-called romantic comedy film. Along the year with his success in directing and making films, Marc was hired by Columbia Pictures to produce and shoot some of the well-known movies such as The Amazing Spiderman (reboot & franchise) and in 2014 he continued the sequel with The Amazing Spiderman 2.

Scenes & Shots :

The implementation of a mid-range shot in this film is varied. This shot in the scene predominantly emphasizes the character's face throughout this film.  Also, it gives emotions, messages, and the best quality of the film.

An establishing shot was implemented for this scene where the actors standing in a perfect camera square to make the subjects in the film more visible.

Low angle view shot was implemented for this scene where it emphasizes on the subject which is the building to show the arts at its finest.

The establishing shot and rule of third were used for this scene, it shows the subject the fountain in the middle while other objects are still there but not focused compared to the fountain. The scenery in this film gives the vibe of aesthetics.

Conclusion:

All in all, this movie has great impacts on the audience where it makes the audience feel about the relationship between two humans but in the end, the air does not go in a same direction as we wished it will always go in different directions. The use of 80's theme in the early start of the film where the girl was cycling with an old era dress, the transition of the camera, effects used in the film, the adjustment of lighting to make all scenes have its own characters.
